Riz Khan, the famous host of a TV show on Al-Jazeera English, gave a guest lecture at Ben-Gurion University on Thursday, 15 May, 12:00 at the Conference Hall B about "International News in a global world". Khan was a guest of the Department of Communication Studies and the Burda Center for Innovative Communications at Ben-Gurion University.
Riz Khan, a Senior News anchor of Al-Jazeera English, formerly with CNN International (host of CNN: Q&A with Riz Khan) and BBC World, is a key on-air figure in international breaking news. He has hosted major news events from the anchor desk and on location, such as the 1996 and 1999 coverage of elections in India, the 1997 historic election in Britain, and in April 1998 the unprecedented live coverage from the Muslim pilgrimage, the Hajj- the first such broadcast from any television network in the world. Khan also secured a number of leading interviews - including the world exclusive with Pakistan 's General Pervez Musharraf, following his coup in October 1999, the Dalai Lama, Hillary Clinton, Nelson Mandela and Kofi Annan.
