The keynote speakers will be Prof. Carolyn Ellis (for more information www.cas.usf.edu/communication/ellis ) and Prof. Arthur Bochner (for more information www.cas.usf.edu/communication/bochner ) from University of South Florida. Ellis and Bochner are leading scholars in the area of auto-ethnography. Ellis latest book: Revision: Authoethnographic Reflection on Life and Work, has won The Society for the Study of Symbolic Interaction award.
The conference will include plenary session, round tables with invited guests, presentations sessions and posters display, as well as workshop with key qualitative researchers in Israel. The annual meeting of the Association of Qualitative Researchers in Israel will take place during the conference, and will include awards for distinguish qualitative paper and poster. Sage, Leftcoast publications, and academic publishing houses from Israel will have qualitative texts available for purchase at the conference.
We invite your submission of paper (250 words), poster (250 words) and full session proposals (title and 3-4 abstracts). Submissions will be accepted until November 8 2009.
Papers can cover such topics as traditions in qualitative research, methods in qualitative research, the history of qualitative research, qualitative research and social change, the politics of academic acceptance of qualitative research, qualitative writing, self reflection, teaching qualitative research, mixed methods, autoethnography, art based research, ethics, qualitative research in education, the status of truth in qualitative research, the connection between epistemology and methodology, qualitative research and social justice, cross-cultural diversity in qualitative research and more.
