About the Journal - Civil society and the Third Sector in Israel

Civil society and the Third Sector in Israel is a new high-quality peer-reviewed interdisciplinary scholarly journal focused on civil society, the Third Sector and related phenomena such as philanthropy, civic participation and social entrepreneurship.

The journal is published twice a year in Hebrew (with special issues also in English) and includes different types of academic articles.

 

The journal was established and promoted by the Israel center for third sector research (ICTR). ICTR was established at the Ben Gurion University in 1997 in order to conduct and promote academic research and study on Civil Society, the Third Sector, and related fields in Israel. ICTR is a multi- and inter-disciplinary center serving researchers and students from academic disciplines, universities and colleges. ICTR works in close cooperation with research centers and associations around the world.

 

The journal is published with the support of Sheatufim center.

Sheatufim – The Israel Center for Civil Society works to strengthen the social vitality of the State of Israel by developing and advancing a civil society that is pluralistic, proactive, influential, professional and collaborative. Sheatufim was founded in 2006 by Zionism 2000, the Rashi Foundation and the United Jewish Communities (UJC).  Gandyr Foundation is a strategic investor in Sheatufim as well.
