The FLS920P is L-geometry spectrofluorimeter for acquiring steady state luminescence spectra, anisotropy spectra (continuous Xenon arc lamp, 450W) and the associated fluorescence decays (spectral range 230-900nm). Life time of fluorescence, with single photon counting sensitivity: psec (diode laser sources 370, 510 nm), nsec to 10 μsec (full wavelengths range). Signal to noise ratio of instrument 6000:1. The instrument has different types of sample chambers: 3-positions temperature controlled (water recirculation chiller) and single position stirrer holders for liquid samples; front face with rotation holder for thin films, powders, slides and fibres.

A dedicated microplate fluorimeter, offers high sensitivity (2fmol fluorescein/well in a black 96-well plate) for a wide variety of fluorimetric applications with top and bottom reading possibility. Compatible with 1- to 384- well plate formats and PCR plates, one on-board dispenser (5-1000μl volume), an incubator (from RT to 45oC) and a shaker (60-1200 rpm). Filters included: Excitation filters: 354 nm, 430nm, 460nm, 485 nm, 544 nm, 620nm; Emission filters: 405nm, 460 nm, 485nm, 538 nm, 555 nm, 590 nm, 620 nm.

The microscope is equipped with a sensitive camera (quantum efficiency 84% max at 600nm), which enables the measurement of very low quantity of light (max total noise 10-15 e-). Phase contrast technique affords observation of transparent samples only, fluorescence measurements allow observation of nontransparent samples as well. Filter sets included: Ex365/Em420; Ex460/Em520; Ex510/Em543; Ex540/Em605.

A double beam scanning instrument, with full spectral analysis software. Equipped with a single monochromator and a silicon photodiode detector, spectral range of 190 – 900 nm and a band pass of 2nm. The temperature controlled (chilled recirculated water) holder allows analysis of solid and liquid samples at concentrations down to ppm ranges.

Langmuir Troughs are capable of supporting and compressing monolayer films at
the air-water interface (surface-pressure / area isotherms). Two troughs are available
with 30cm2 min area and either 268 cm2 (Model 312D) or 718 cm2 (Model 712BAM)
max area. Troughs have dippers for transfer of monolayer onto solid substrates (up
to 3mm thickness).

Imaging ellipsometry. Applicable for measurement of the changes induced
in thickness and packing density of monolayers. Nanofilm EP³ has 1 μm lateral
resolution and 0.1 nm resolution for the z-direction (thickness). Light source –
532nm laser 50mW.
Brewster angle microscopy (BAM). The technique enables in situ visual
inspection of phenomena occurring within the monolayers deposited upon the
water subphase. Nanofilm EP³ has a lateral resolution down to 1 μm (20x objective)
or 2 μm (10x objective), and view field of ~0.22 mm or 0.44 mm respectively. Light
source – 532nm laser 50mW.
UV-Vis reflective spectroscopy. Employed for spectroscopic and spatial
distribution analysis at the air/water interface. Light source is tungsten and
deuterium lamp; spectral range – 240-1000nm; Max resolution of ΔR±0.002%. The
instrument can work in spectral and kinetic modes.
