A part of our research efforts is focused on developing stable nano-structures in thermo-electric materials.
Nano-structuring may contribute to the reduction of the thermal conductivity
and thereby enhance the conversion efficiency of these materials
from thermal to electric energy.
Nano-structuring may be achieved by thermodynamically driven processes
that induce disproportionation reactions on the nano-scale.
In a different field, we are studying the strengthening potential of nano-particles
(e.g. CNTs) in boron carbide and silicon carbide composites.
