Ben-Gurion University has supported the formation of chamber music groups of students, faculty, and other university members. We invite everyone who plays or played a string or woodwind instrument or piano to participate. The chamber music course was founded in September 2009. The university’s orchestra stopped playing several years ago, and the course now provides an opportunity for playing classical music at BGU. The course is under the auspices of the Dean of Students and is organized by Prof. Ute Deichmann and Daniel Lachish as coach.
Chamber music groups, such as piano trios, flute trios, various string groups etc. are playing regularly every week. They are coached by Daniel Lachish. The groups are playing at different levels, which depend on previous experiences and personal abilities of the players. Previous experience in chamber music is not required.
The course aims at teaching students and others to play together and to improve their playing of chamber music. In addition, the more advanced groups prepare pieces for performances at university events and concerts.
We will be happy if you join us in our musical project at the university. Please contact us at utedany@gmail.com or 08-647 2258
