The Kreitman Foundation Fellowships

Irene and Hyman Kreitman

There is a close connection between the Kreitman Foundation Fellowships and the Kreitman School of Advanced Graduate Studies. The Doctoral Fellowships are awarded only to those admitted to graduate study by the Kreitman School of Advanced Graduate Study. Candidates are advised to examine its regulations. Its home page (www.bgu.ac.il/kreitman_school) offers access to the University's programs of study as well as information on faculty interests and expertise. Post-Doctoral candidates should consult this source as well as the University home page (http://www.bgu.ac.il/).

Kreitman Foundation Doctoral Fellows and Post-Doctoral Fellows are provided with the means to devote their energies to study, research and professional development. It is expected that they will become part of the University community. They are also offered the opportunity to participate in the Society of Kreitman Fellows and are provided membership in the Kreitman Fellows Common Room.

The selection processes of the Kreitman Foundation Fellowships are conducted by the Steering Committee of the Kreitman Foundation Fellowships. Its members are drawn from the different Faculties of the University. The Chair is Professor Yehudith Birk, a member of the Israel Academy of Sciences and of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem's Faculty of Agriculture in Rehovoth. Overall responsibility for the Kreitman Foundation Fellowships is vested in an International Board of Overseers. Its Chair is Sir Aaron Klug, past president of the Royal Society and Director of the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology at Cambridge University.
