A book by our colleague Prof. Katrin Kogman-Appel of the Arts Department, Illuminated Haggadot from Medieval Spain: Biblical Imagery and the Passover Holiday was selected as the best book on Spanish history before 1516 by the American Historical Association. She will receive it bi-annual Premio del Rey prize at the AHA annual meetings in New York City, January 2–5, 2009 at the New York Hilton.
