Call for proposals

The award program is designed to enhance the existing support of autism research by providing timely resources to enable focused experiments highly relevant to the mission. A deeper understanding of the mechanisms underlying autism spectrum disorders or potential therapeutic approaches will require investigation at multiple levels, including but not limited to studies focused on gene discovery, molecular mechanisms, circuits, anatomy, and cognition and behavior.

Deadline: Applications will be accepted online at proposalCENTRAL starting 1 June 2011. Applications are considered on a rolling basis, with a response time as early as 30 days.

North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) - Science for Peace and Security Project

RDA Announcement

The Science for Peace and Security Programme (SPS) offers grants to scientists in NATO, Partner, and Mediterranean Dialogue countries to collaborate on priority research topics.

Multi-year Science for Peace (SfP) Project grants offer support for applied research and development projects to cover project-related costs such as scientific equipment, computers, software, travel and training of project personnel and project-specific consumables. 

Thrasher Fund - Medical research grants to improve the lives of children

The Thrasher Fund awards grants for pediatric medical research that offers substantial promise for meaningful advances in prevention and treatment of children's diseases, particularly research that offers broad-based applications. Between 5 – 10% of the Foundation's grants are awarded to institutes outside the U.S.

BARD - Bi-National Agricultural Research and Development - MARD

The purpose of the new Facilitating Grant program is to enable small multinational research groups to jointly prepare a detailed research proposal, focused on a priority area listed below, to be submitted to other international granting organizations. The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Mercator Visiting Professorships

The DFG offers the Mercator Programme to enable Germany's research universities to invite highly qualified scientists and academics working abroad to complete a DFG-funded stay at their institutes. The visit should focus on joint cooperative projects by the guest and host. By assuming teaching duties, visiting professors will contribute to providing a clear international dimension to the research-oriented training of young researchers in the host departments.

Human Frontier Science Program: short term Fellowships

The HFSP supports novel, innovative and interdisciplinary basic research focused on the complex mechanisms of living organisms; topics range from molecular and cellular approaches to systems and cognitive neuroscience. a clear emphasis is placed on novel collaborations that brings biologists together with scientists from fields such as physics, mathematics, chemistry, computer science and engineering to focus on problems at the frontier of the life sciences.

The Middle East Desalination Research Center

The Middle East Desalination Research Center is an international non-profit organization, based in Muscat, Oman. The mission of the Center’s research program is to conduct, support and coordinate basic and applied R&D in water desalination and supporting fields, with the overall objective to reduce the cost of desalination.

National Geographic Society Grants

The National Geographic Society (NGS) awards grants for scientific field research and exploration through its Committee for Research and Exploration (CRE). All proposed projects must have both a geographical dimension and relevance to other scientific fields and be of broad scientific interest. The average funding level is 100,000 NIS per year. Requests for funding exceeding the average funding level will be considered provided the justification is adequate

Michael J. Fox Parkinson Foundation

Supports innovative, high-risk/high-reward projects tackling critical scientific and therapeutic roadblocks that, if successful, open new avenues for PD therapy development.

The program accelerates work in real time through the use of a unique rolling submission deadline and six -weeks-or-less funding decisions. The program is well suited to projects with little-to-no existing preliminary data.

The Spencer Foundation provides funding for investigations that promise to yield new knowledge about education in the United States or abroad. The Foundation funds research grants that range in size from smaller grants that can be completed within a year, to larger, multi-year endeavors. Whereas in the past the Foundation had two distinct research grant programs based on budget size, we now have reorganized our research grant programs around the areas of inquiry identified on our home page.

The Ruth and Baruch Rappaport Center for Assimilation Research and Strengthening Jewish Vitality

In order to encourage serious and sustained research into the analysis of phenomena and processes in contemporary Jewish life that contribute to assimilation, and into successful counter-strategies, the Rappaport center offers research grants to scholars, thus enabling them to carry out original research culminating in a research paper appropriate for inclusion in the center's publication series.
Researchers interested in conducting studies in topics which are relevant to the Rappaport Center are requested to send a written proposal that will include a short description of the proposed study and its predicted contribution to the promotion of the Rappaport Center goals.

Advancing Diabetes Care to Cure
Aplication for Young Investigators Travel Grants

D-Cure Travel grants are intended for investigators whose work has been accepted for presentation in an international diabetes-related meeting taking place during 2008. The applicant must be first author on an accepted abstract. If applicable, D-Cure support of the research should be indicated on the abstract.
