A full three-year academic scholarship

Ben-Gurion
University is the only academic institution in Israel to offer a full academic scholarship for B.A. studies exclusively for students at the Eilat Campus.  This exceptional scholarship is made possible thanks to the cooperation and support of the Toronto Jewish community, the Sacta-Rashi Foundation, the Eilat Foundation, and PERACH [Tutoring Project]. The scholarship is available subject to performing voluntary activities contributing to the Eilat community.

 

 

An abundance of employment opportunities for students

 

Eilat offers multiple employment opportunities mainly in the tourism industry. Typically offering flexible shifts, these jobs are ideal for students.

There is a close cooperation between local employers, the university administration and students. To facilitate employment placement, The offices of S.H.A.L. are located on campus.  

 

 

Residence in the new dorms of Campus Ben - Gurion University  in Eilat 

The first building on the dorms of Campus Ben - Gurion University in Eilat (the first of five building) will be inhabit by the first year students of 2010-2011.
72 students will live in student houses at Eilat , in 64 separate rooms (each student will have his own room) and 4 apartments for couples and for disabled.
The dormitory is intended for first-year B.A students which are not residents of Eilat. 
 
The Dormitories include:

Each dormitory building includes: kitchen, living room, dining room, four living rooms, (each student in a private room), two shower rooms and services, air conditioning system that allows regulation of each room separately, internet connection points (university network) and cable TV.
A detailed list about the furniture and equipment of each apartment can be found in a list of furniture and equipment in the apartment. 
 A washing machine and dryer is available to students who are living in the dormitory.

Payment:
Rent is determined by the index for May 2009 and updated every month and / or in other period of time which is determined by the university.  The update is linked to the CPI index.

The rent for the school year 2011 is:
Apartment with 4-bedroom, 1,050 per month for tenant.
Apartment couple, 1,050 per month for tenant.
Registration for dorm housing will be open on 1/6/2010 and will end on 08/16/2010.


 

The Students’ Association – Representing you


The Students’ Association is the entity that represents the students on campus and acts in their interest. The Association promotes student affairs in various matters and represents the students before different organizations and institutions. In addition, the Association organizes social, cultural, and sports activities. The students’ football and basketball teams play in the local league.

 

 

 

The Dean of Students Office – someone is taking care of you!

 

We, at the Dean of Students Office, believe that the students should be the center of the academic endeavor. And we are dedicated to fulfilling this assertion. The Dean of Students Office represents students in academic & ethical matters before the University authorities and looks after the students’ welfare. This includes assistance in areas such as scholarships and loans, offering support for students with learning disabilities and students serving in military reserve duty, as well as assisting students in housing, and more.

 

 

The Academic Library

 

A rich and up-to-date library with a collection of books and journals on various subjects is available to Students.  With an emphasis on titles relevant to academic studies, The Campus library contains around 21,000 titles in Hebrew and English, including extensive databases pertaining to all the fields of knowledge that are studied here. The students can also search the catalogue of the Arrane Library, the central library in the Beer-Sheva Campus of Ben-Gurion University. Databases and a printout of the Arrane library catalogue are available as well.
