Academic Mission

The Department aims to engage in cutting-edge applied and theoretical
research, to provide world class education for students, and to serve the community
in the various domains that constitute the field of IEM.
We consider the field of IEM as the interdisciplinary endeavor to analyze,
design and manage complex systems that involve technological, economic,
multidisciplinary approach both in research and in education.
This is reflected in that beyond the traditional applications of IE to the manufacturing and
service sectors, the department today views as part of its mission to conduct
research and to train students in such diverse areas as system analysis and
information systems, health care systems, transportation, public administration,
communication, the military and natural resources.
These areas are explored in research endeavors both in local and international settings.
