Summer University Since 1998, the Center for German Studies at Ben-Gurion University has been a cooperating partner of the International Summer University for Hebrew, Jewish Studies, and Israel Studies, designed expressly for German-speaking international students. The students will be offered an intensive Hebrew course at a suitable level, in addition to a variety of seminars and lectures in German by professors of Ben-Gurion University and foreign guests. The seminars and lectures will primarily cover subjects related to Jewish studies, the history and culture of Israel, ancient and modern. In addition, the organizers of the summer program see it as their mission to contribute to furthering understanding between Germany and Israel, and to promoting a dialogue between German and Israeli/ Jewish cultures by fostering direct contacts between German and Israeli students.
