MBA in Social Leadership

Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU) and the Mandel Foundation (MF) have established a premier full-time MBA in Social Leadership that will run from the end of August 2011 until January 2013.

The objective of the Social Leadership MBA is to train and develop top leaders for the nonprofit and public sectors in Israel.

The program will be unique, offering a curriculum integrating both business management and leadership approaches and skills, together with in-depth knowledge and understanding of social issues and of the role of civil society in a modern democratic state.

The Social Leadership MBA is a full-time program conducted over a period of 16 months (2.5 study days per week: Monday, Thursday and Friday).The proposed program will consist of 60 credits in a research track or a non-research track.

Three criteria are taken into account in selecting students: Candidates need to achieve a high score in the quantitative part of the GMAT exam and/or complete their undergraduate degree with good results and/or have developed significant relevant experience in the field.

The selection process also includes a detailed questionnaire, and an interview. Candidates will have to demonstrate commitment to social issues, and a high level of English proficiency.

Students will receive a stipend of up to 50% of the tuition. In addition, a living stipend will be available to some students according to pre-determined criteria.

Faculty is comprised of the BGU faculty members, Israeli and international specialists in the realm of social leadership and renowned experts from the best universities, such as: Duke University, Harvard University, Stanford University, University of Paris – Sorbonne.
