Researchers from the Jacob Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research have won two architecture prizes.

Dr. Bertrand Boeken of the Jacob Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research at BGU’s Sede Boqer Campus is one of the Israelis researchers who contributed research data from two long-term ecological research sites in the northern Negev, in Park Shaked near Ofakim and in the Lehavim hills.

The Fourth Annual SIDEER symposium will deal with the evolution of culture. Beyond biological evolution, human beings are running another race in time, that of cultural evolution. Not having to rely on proteins, genes and physiological constraints, culture can disperse faster and more efficiently. We are not only the machines spreading our genes; we are the machines through which memes spread.
