In the first session of the workshop, Professor Keohane discussed the problems and the new challenges of managing the international economic system with the spread of globalization. The session was chaired by Professor Avishay Braverman who spoke on how the Israeli economy is responding to the challenge of globalization.
The second day of the workshop focused on new directions in the study of international relations, with presentations by Dr. Joel Peters (BGU), Dr. Benny Miller (Hebrew University), Professor Yaacov Bar Siman Tov (Hebrew University), Dr. Arie Kacowicz (Hebrew University), Professor Gerald Steinberg (Bar Ilan Univesity), and Dr. Ben-Mor (Haifa University).
Professor Kehohane opened discussion by presenting an overview of how the academic discipline of international relations has developed over the past fifty years and outlining critical issues now facing the discipline.
The workshop concluded with a session devoted to how developments in the Middle East are viewed by scholars who work in the field of international relations.
